You can spot bokeh a mile away – like in the little blobs of light that illuminate this plant. The bokeh effect became popular because it gives photographs a surreal touch. It makes photography more appealing and focuses attention in a specific part of the image better than regular background blur.
This small detail makes all the difference to some photographs. The word itself comes from Japaneses, meaning ‘blur’.
